A recent case reported by San Diego Red shows a SENTRI traveler had their pass revoked on the spot after failing to properly declare agricultural items — including fruits like mangos, oranges, kiwis, and guavas found inside the vehicle.
Let that sink in…
👉 Not drugs. Not weapons.
👉 Fruit.
And just like that — SENTRI gone. Yikes!

⚠️ Why This Matters
When you use SENTRI, you are held to a higher level of trust and compliance. That means:
• You must declare EVERYTHING
• Even items that seem harmless
• Even if you didn’t think it mattered
Because to U.S. Customs, it DOES.
And yes… sometimes it can depend on the officer, the situation, or how strict the inspection is that day.

🍊 Big One People Don’t Realize:
Fruits, vegetables, plants, meats, and even some snacks are restricted or require declaration.
That includes:
• Fresh fruit (oranges, mangos, bananas, etc.)
• Vegetables
• Homemade food
• Meat products

👉 These can carry pests or diseases — that’s why enforcement is strict.
